Boeing is one of the most reputed companies which has done tremendous work throughout the past, which builds from commercial planes to satellites but things are not going so well for them, they are already anxious about the problems coming in their boeing 747 aircraft and now their first passenger spacecraft CST-100 starliner failed to achieve final orbit due to a technical issue in its final test.

I will tell you why boeing needed to develop this kind of spacecraft. First of all, the USA is dependent on russia to get its astronomers to the international space station, but in 2014 the relation of both countries took a bad turn and hence the USA gave the contract to spacex and boeing to build a spacecraft capsule in which they can safely send their astronauts to ISS and to remove their dependency from RUSSIA. After signing this contract both spacex and boeing started working for it, and where spacex is still developing its crewdragon, boeing has successfully developed its crew dragon cst-100 starliners which successfully cleared all tests and finally, the date for its first orbital flight test came in which it had to do a complete trip from iss to back to earth and sadly it failed in that.

On 28th december 2019, boeing CST-100 starliners were launched from atlas 5 rocket for its first orbital flight test, the launch was successful and atlas 5 successfully established the capsule in low earth orbit and finally, this capsule detached itself from atlas 5. Actually, after this stage starliner had to fire its thrusters which would have taken it to its actual orbit where iss is present and hence completing the docking procedure, but unfortunately, it didn’t even fire its engine which would have taken it to the equal orbit of that of iss. This happened because of a bug present in the mission clock control of starliner due to which it felt like it is in the wrong position right now from where it should have been and for correcting its position it burned almost all the fuel present onboard,. After that, it didn’t have enough fuel to reach iss after all, this starliner did a second stage burn and acquired a stable orbit and safely started orbiting earth.

Just after 2 days on 22nd december, it landed safely and smoothly on the landing spot in the desert of new mexico. Now it's not clear, either nasa will ask boeing to redo this task or not because many people think that if an actual crew would have been onboard the capsule then they could have taken controls in their own hands by overriding, the malfunctions occurred which would have resulted in a successful mission. Well, now it's up to NASA to take the decision. But after all this happened, boeing has fired its ceo based on the problems happening on boeing 747 commercial airplane, and people are calling it a bold move to regain world’s trust back on boeing. Finally, one thing is clear that for now, the USA has to rely on RUSSIA to send their astronauts to international space station until boeing and spacex complete its task successfully.
