At the beginning of a new year, we got to hear big announcements made by ISRO, in which k.Sivan did a press conference and told us about their future missions and plans. In all this, the biggest mission of isro is going to be Gaganyaan which is ISRO’s human space flight program and in this, we are going to send humans to space for the first time. Gaganyaan is a sanskrit word which literally means “sky vehicle”, so like its name, ISRO is developing a vehicle which can carry humans to space and isro has told us that they have completed the selection procedure of 4 astronauts from indian airforce, one of these pilot’s names is nikhil rath whose name came up back in september 2019. K.Sivan also told us that these astronauts are going to be trained at the training center of the Russian space agency in the 3rd week of january.

We will launch all these astronaut in a crewed capsule Gagayaan from GSLV (geosynchronous launch vehicle). After success of this mission india is going to become fourth country to send humans to space. K.Sivan also told us that Gaganyaan will be completed by year 2020. For this ISRO is going to do a test flight in which they will send robots instead of humans, so that they can perform simulations in microgravity and take human rating for propulsion module, you must have read about how NASA launched indian origin astronaut kalpana chawla and indian wing commander, rakesh sharma, to space, just like that ISRO’s this mission is going to be one of the biggest steps in the field of space exploration when we send our own asronauts to space, one more big announcement  made by k.Sivan is that chandrayaan3 has got official approval from government, and work is being done on it parallel with Gaganyaan.

He also told us that just like chandrayaan 3, chandrayaan 2 also consists of a lander and a rover, but the difference is going to be the orbiter that we used for chandraayan 2 is still active and we will use it for chandrayaan 3 orbitir. K.Sivan also told us about  navic indian region and navigation system  system which is also known as indian gps, is going to work soon in our mobile phones, it means that along with gps and navic system we will get accurate position information. So get ready to witness more such big missions of ISRO.
